Travel League

Bragging rights, gamified. A friends-only travel log that scores itself — where your friends have been, and who is winning.

Why I built it

Travel photos are social currency with no scoreboard. I wanted the log to keep itself and the competition to be automatic — no spreadsheets, no honour system.

The problem

Any group of friends who travel ends up comparing trips verbally. There is no record, so the claim is always arguable, and the person with the loudest memory wins rather than the person who went furthest.

What I was using before

Nothing, honestly. This is the one on the list that is not replacing a subscription — it is replacing an argument.

What it does

  • Log a trip and earn experience for it
  • Leagues that rank friends against each other
  • A map that keeps the receipts, so a claim can be checked
  • Friends-only — it is not a public travel feed

Where it is now

In development. The foundation is built and the data model is real: authentication works, trips and leagues are modelled, and the API responds. It is the least finished thing here, and I would rather say that than dress it up.

Who it might interest

Anyone who travels in a group and has ever been told they were exaggerating. Also the honest case study for what an idea looks like at the scaffolded stage, before it is a product.
