Personalised Audio Briefing
A podcast that knows your life. A spoken briefing assembled from my own data and interests, delivered daily, hands-free.
Why I built it
A service I liked shut down in May 2026, and it had solved a real problem for me: getting genuinely relevant information while walking the dog or driving, rather than scrolling it.
The problem
Audio content is either broadcast — the same for everyone — or it does not exist. Nobody makes a briefing about your calendar, your household, your projects and the news that touches them, because that requires access to all of it.
What I was using before
A commercial personalised-audio service that closed. When it shut down I realised the thing I valued was really a pipeline I could build myself: gather, filter, summarise, speak.
What it does
- A daily spoken briefing, assembled from my own sources
- Weather, calendar, family logistics, household and project state
- News filtered by interest rather than by outlet
- Delivered as a voice message, so it needs no app and no screen
- Built to be interrupted and conversational, not read aloud
Where it is now
Working, in daily use. A first version delivers every morning with real data behind it, and it keeps being refined. The most recent addition was a planning step before the writing step.
Who it might interest
Anyone who absorbs more by listening than by reading, and anyone who has had a service they relied on taken away by a company that changed direction. It is the clearest case I have for building the thing instead of renting it.
