Why I built it

Planning a trip is mostly research admin. You read a hundred pages, you save forty of them, and then you make a decision that no one page ever actually answered. I wanted the opposite: tell it who you are, and get back a trip that feels like it was made for you.

The problem

Travel sites are built to sell you what they have, not to work out what fits you. Recommendations are generic, itineraries are copies of each other, and almost nothing takes into account that two people going to the same island want completely different things.

What it does

A personalities-and-preferences profile — travel personality, places already seen, what you like, what you will not tolerate — matched against a curated knowledgebase of destinations and experiences. From those two things it designs a personalised itinerary you can then edit, with booking links for the parts you want to keep. The matching is grounded in content rather than scraped from whoever pays most for placement.

Where it is now

The foundation is built: the specification, the phase design, the database, authentication, the profiling engine and the AI matching engine were all done, and then the project paused. This one is an experiment in the honest sense — the hard conceptual part is designed, and the rest is a long road.

Who it might interest

Anyone who has ever closed twenty browser tabs and booked nothing. If you have strong opinions about how you travel and none of the existing sites seem to have noticed, this is aimed at you.
